This year will see Open Source Developers Conference in Hobart Tasmania at the Wrest Point Convention Centre (October 27-29). OSDC is the main Australian/New Zealand Conference that is focused purely on Developers and the cross sector of OSS Development Communities. Always a great conference and a fantastic networking event where your sure to see some friendly faces, meet some new ones and hear some great local and international speakers.
The Call for Papers is now open and this year Tim has put a call out for a diverse range of topics, so if you have an Open Source Project you have been working on? Language your passionate about? DevOps API calls to command your Docker Fleet? War stories from the Developer Fields? applying to speak at OSDC. It is something I would encourage all Open Source Developers in Australia to apply for at least once. It is great for new speakers as you can guarantee the crowds are always friendly, the vibe is grass roots and it is not as an intense CFP process as something like LinuxConf can be so a great warmer.
